The medical assistant should be able to or willing to perform administrative and clinical duties as listed.
Clinical Duties (may include but not limited to):
Interview patients and document basic medical history Organize and schedule appointments Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens venipuncture or phlebotomy (not required) Preparing the patients for examinations Performing basic laboratory tests Assisting the physician during examinations if needed Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections-including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.
g, a nurse practitioner or physician assistant) Transmitting prescription refill request as directed Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited) and Skills required Using computer applications and electronic medical records Answering telephones Welcoming patients Updating and filing patient medical records Scheduling appointments and appointment reminder calls Proven working experience as a medical assistant for at least one year Knowledge of medical office electronic medical records and use Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Social and able to provide good customer service Bilingual (not required) Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software Degree in medical assistance from an accredited program Job Types:
