We are looking for a dedicated Shop Hand to be an assistant to our technicians.
You will have various responsibilities and tasks that will allow the technicians to focus more primarily on the repair and routine maintenance of our customers' cranes and crane equipment.
It will be a full-time position, the hours being Monday-Friday 7:
30am-4:
30pm with an hour off for lunch.
Knowledge of basic mechanical equipment and hand tools is required.
Duties:
- Assist with various tasks in the shop, including but not limited to:
- Organizing shop by moving materials, parts, and various equipment - Assembling and disassembling components - Using hand tools to complete tasks and delivering tools/equipment to the technicians upon their request.
- Cleaning spills, organizing and cleaning tool cases/boxes, etc.
- Assisting with inventory management and stock control - Following safety protocols and guidelines; you must take the safety of yourself and others seriously
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an auto and/or construction warehouse or shop environment preferred - Knowledge of basic mechanical principles and ability to use power tools required - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or instructions - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively Please note that this position requires physical stamina, as it may involve standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions.
Again, you must have basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical experience.
